Matthew’s Journey as a Chef has placed him in a diverse array of kitchens around the world, including the iconic River Cafe in London, Babington House in Somerset, England and Soho House in Malibu and West Hollywood, California.

Maddie’s knowledge and experience in wine, food and hospitality is an essential addition to our approach at the Inn. She has worked with several restaurant groups, including the Sorge Group in Milwaukee, and Rustic Canyon Group in Los Angeles.

After consulting on the opening of several restaurants in Los Angeles, Matt and Maddie decided to return home to Wisconsin to be closer to family, and to chart their own course through The Inn.

Matt’s personal style of cuisine combines the freshest seasonal ingredients from local and regional purveyors, inspired culinary techniques from around the world, and a deep passion for crafted simplicity on the plate. The result is a balanced, surprising and delightful expression of these influences.

His thoughtful approach to food is rooted in honoring the simple purity of the highest quality ingredients to create memorable, elegant and essential flavor experiences. Wood-fired cooking is at the heart of our technique; an honest, primal and delicious method of preparing meat, fish and breads.
